Services on this project
At Marsden Park in November 2024, five Squirrel Gliders were encountered in a tree hollow during supervised vegetation clearing. They received veterinary assessment before relocation, a Common Ringtail Possum was released on site, and ESEA’s clearing certification letter recorded the event.
What happens when fauna is found during clearing?
Clearing supervision means an ecologist is present while trees are felled, to stop works when an animal is found and to make sure the approved limits are followed. Animals found in hollows are checked, given veterinary care where needed, and relocated or released under the fauna response protocol agreed before clearing starts.
What ESEA did
ESEA supervised the clearing, managed the fauna encountered, and issued the post-clearing certification letter recording what was found and how each animal was handled. See vegetation clearing supervision and certification.
Fauna recorded
- 5 Squirrel Gliders: veterinary assessment, then relocation
- 1 Common Ringtail Possum: released on site
